Research at Parvis Exeter Academy
Innovating Across Borders. Inspiring Global Impact.
At Parvis Exeter Academy, research is at the core of our academic mission. We believe that inquiry fuels progress, and that great ideas know no borders. From high school projects that spark early innovation to advanced graduate research shaping global policy, we foster a research culture that is bold, interdisciplinary, and internationally connected.
With campuses in Athens, Greece and Colorado, USA, our Academy offers students and faculty access to diverse academic ecosystems that reflect both classical scholarship and cutting-edge innovation. Whether exploring social justice in a transatlantic context, developing new technology for sustainable cities, or examining cross-cultural education models, our research is grounded in global relevance and driven by real-world purpose.
Our Research Philosophy
Our approach to research is built on three core principles:
- Inquiry with Purpose: We empower students and scholars to ask meaningful questions that address urgent issues — from climate change and public health to ethics, equity, and technology.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Breakthroughs emerge where fields intersect. We encourage collaboration across disciplines, departments, and continents.
- Global Responsibility: We believe research should not only generate knowledge, but also advance solutions that benefit communities worldwide.
At every level — K–12, undergraduate, and graduate — students are encouraged to think critically, engage in original investigation, and contribute to knowledge that matters.
Research Opportunities for All
K–12 Innovation Lab
Our K–12 Academy integrates early research skills through our Innovation Lab, where students engage in hands-on STEM challenges, design-thinking workshops, and guided inquiry projects. These experiences lay the foundation for scientific reasoning, curiosity, and independent learning.
Undergraduate Research Programs
Our undergraduates actively participate in faculty-led projects, summer research internships, and independent studies across all disciplines. Whether publishing in undergraduate journals, presenting at academic conferences, or conducting fieldwork in Europe or North America, students gain early exposure to scholarly practice.
Graduate-Level Research & Fellowships
Graduate students engage in original research that addresses critical global issues. With access to faculty mentors, international partnerships, and advanced labs, they conduct thesis and dissertation work that contributes new knowledge to their fields. Research assistantships, fellowships, and exchange opportunities further support their academic goals.
Global Research Initiatives
Parvis Exeter Academy maintains a network of international research centers and partnerships with universities, NGOs, and think tanks across Europe, North America, and beyond. These collaborations support joint research projects, student exchanges, and policy-oriented studies in areas such as:
- Global Education Reform
- Sustainable Urban Development
- Artificial Intelligence and Ethics
- International Business and Trade
- Health Equity and Public Policy
Students at all levels can contribute to these global initiatives and benefit from our institution’s far-reaching research ecosystem.
Recent Research Highlights
- Graduate researchers presented climate policy recommendations at the European Green Forum.
- Undergraduate psychology students co-authored a cross-cultural study on adolescent wellbeing in bilingual environments.
- K–12 students developed a sustainable hydroponics prototype in collaboration with the local science museum.
Empowering the Next Generation of Thinkers
At Parvis Exeter Academy, we don’t just teach research — we live it. From the curiosity of a young student in our K–12 Innovation Lab to the rigor of a doctoral candidate presenting internationally, research is woven into the fabric of who we are.
We are not simply preparing students for careers — we are preparing them to discover, challenge, create, and lead.
